On January 13, 2027, Martin Kohlstedt arrives at Barcelona’s Sala Apolo with a live set that moves between contemporary piano, ambient, and electronic music, without staying still or repeating a single form. His music begins from “modules” that he assembles and transforms in real time: pieces that breathe, open up and tense, halfway between composition and improvisation, with changes of timbre and pulse that make each concert different.
After exploring a more acoustic language in Tag and Nacht, expanding the palette in Strom and returning to a more stripped-back line in Flur, Kohlstedt has continued pushing that dialogue between discreet electronic textures and neoclassical sensibility in Feld. On stage, that logic becomes physical: layers that enter and exit, restrained rhythms, weighted silences and a piano as an anchoring point to build flexible sound architectures, designed to be listened to up close.
