Info
An anniversary is something to celebrate. And if possible, more than once.
So when we talk about Sourdoreille's 20th anniversary, and about the birthday of a project whose DNA carries music and celebration, we should have expected not to stop at the two evenings held in June in Nantes.
To cap off the celebrations, we head to the Paris region, to Mains d’Œuvres, in Saint-Ouen.
Because this is where it all began.
During the first seven years of the cooperative, Mains d’Œuvres was our home. This is where we began imagining our first recordings and our video projects. Here we gradually built an horizon where celebration and work could harmonize.
It’s here too that we produced our first live recordings, crossed paths with artists, met friends, worked late, celebrated even later, and lived through a bunch of memorable evenings.
Twenty years later, we return home.
And obviously, we don’t come back empty-handed.
- GAM1 is a mix of absurd (and sometimes political) humor, offbeat songs and catchy melodies. We filmed it a few months ago for a Sourdoreille session; since then, it has settled in at Radio Nova, where it now contributes chronicles.
- Johnny Montreuil is a voice, a face and a universe we’ve long loved at Sourdoreille. We dedicated a documentary to him a few years ago, an adventure that remains etched in our collective memory.
- Noreah: at the crossroads of rap, R&B, soul and alternative pop, Noreah develops sensitive and instinctive music, carried by a voice that is both fragile and soulful. Through her songs, she tells of the moment when one tries to understand what one feels, to detach from what holds us back and to move forward.
- Xea: from Perpignan, Xea comes from the south’s raves with acid-toned sounds. Getting lost in Parisian clubs, Xea developed a style that blends bass and techno. Today, Xea is actively involved in the Paris electronic scene and has begun a residency on BLT Radio.
- La Shagass: born from the meeting of noise music and saturated pop, La Shagass delivers raw and unifying lyrics over music paced at 160 BPM. Accompanied by their faithful MC from Action, they shake up the dancefloor the way a distortion shakes an amplifier.
- Merci Val: a DJ set under the sign of fun. House, friends shouting, an atmosphere designed to switch off your brain and dance as if no one was watching.
