On May 8, 2027, Man/Woman/Chainsaw bring their six-piece art-rock chaos to EngineRooms Southampton. Formed in London in 2019, the band built its reputation on a sound that keeps you guessing: post-punk tension, noise bursts, abrasive guitars, then sudden melodic turns and orchestral touches that cut right through the distortion. It’s a collective with shifting songwriting, and that fluid, unpredictable construction is what makes their live sets feel constantly on the move rather than stuck in revivalist rock habits.
Led by founders Billy Ward and Vera Leppänen, Man/Woman/Chainsaw have been sharpening this nervous, mobile aesthetic across the UK live circuit since the early 2020s, turning sharp contrasts into the core of their performances. After key steps like signing to Fiction Records and the single “Only Girl,” they arrive with the momentum of a band built for the stage and the aftershock of their debut album Cannonball.
