Info
On May 6, 2027, Richard Thompson brings his “Hippies, Thugs & Heroes - Band Tour 2027” to Sheffield City Hall, with a set built for the push and pull of a full band: acoustic songwriting sharpened by electric bite, where folk modes brush up against rock and a hint of country swing.
Known since the late 60s for his time in Fairport Convention, Thompson has spent decades carving a catalog that moves between intimate ballads and plugged-in storytelling. Expect songs that lean into his taste for dark narratives, eased by dry humor, and that melodic, quicksilver guitar approach that’s as rooted in traditional English phrasing as it is in modern groove. This Sheffield date is a chance to hear that long-running thread come alive onstage, tight, direct, and song-first.
