Electronic producer Jlin and the contemporary ensemble Third Coast Percussion fuse their rhythmic practices to offer a high-intensity live experience.
Hailing from footwork, a brisk electronic current, Jlin sculpts rhythms with striking mastery. With four albums released on Planet Mu, she emerges as a prominent female figure in the electronic music scene. Delving deeply into rhythmic possibilities, the all-male ensemble Third Coast Percussion—composed of David Skidmore, Robert Dillon, Sean Connors, with Kyle Flens participating—develops an innovative repertoire oriented toward contemporary classical.
Together on stage, the musician and the group present a concert program that sits between acoustic and electronic, defying categorization. In addition to pieces by Jlin, some of which were composed especially for Third Coast Percussion, the program notably includes an unreleased work by David Longstreth (leader of the indie rock band The Dirty Projectors), as well as works by Mozart and Philip Glass.
