Regarded as one of the great Iranian musicians of our time and one of the influential figures in contemporary Persian music, this master of the kamancheh has carried his art to many stages around the world while profoundly renewing this millennial tradition.
He reunites with another exploratory musician, Kiya Tabassian, recognized as the ambassador of the Persian setar, for a meeting guided by dialogue and improvisation. An ancient art in constant evolution, Persian music here unfolds its expressive richness through an intimate format uniting two emblematic instruments of this tradition: Kayhan Kalhor's kamancheh and Kiya Tabassian's setar.
Longtime collaborators, the two musicians share a common passion for exploring Persian repertoires and for creating new spaces of encounter between tradition and invention. Their instruments give life to a conversation where compositions, improvisations and reinterpretations of Iranian musical heritage respond to one another freely.
