Info
Goodbye Karelle is the musical project led by the artist Karelle Tremblay. Revealed in a first intimate and raw album, Hugh Greene & the Lucies Made Me, her universe blends spoken word and alternative pop, between vaporous melodies and visceral lyrics.
In her songs, Goodbye Karelle tells of love that erupts, of the loneliness that clings, of memories that haunt. Her deep, embodied voice explores the troubled zones of identity, gender, and desire. Goodbye Karelle writes as one keeps a secret diary, composes as one reconstructs one’s memory, in a gesture that is fragile and radical.
Like other free-spirited figures from the Quebec scene, Goodbye Karelle deconstructs classic formats and blends music, image and self-staging. A cinematic minimalism and emotional intensity inhabit each track. Goodbye Karelle does not perform a role; the artist exposes herself in a complete and fully realized work, where words become living, piercing, and sensuous matter.
