Info
Gang of Youths are coming to Melkweg in Amsterdam on 29 November 2026 with their broad, emotionally charged indie and alternative rock, built around the songs of frontman David Le’aupepe. Do not expect a tight three-chord set, but songs that take their time: guitars and piano provide the foundation, after which the band opens up with layered arrangements and a live approach that has begun to sound bigger and bigger. Since their start in Sydney (2012), Gang of Youths have evolved from compact, narrative rock into a sound that also incorporates strings, folk and chamber pop. That is evident in the arc from The Positions and Go Farther in Lightness to Angel in Realtime, where their orchestral side truly comes to the fore. In Amsterdam it's about singing along, room to breathe, and rising dynamics: songs that draw you in slowly and then land with full impact in the venue.
