The Brand New Heavies return to London for a concert at Blue Note London on December 15, 2026, with that signature mix of acid jazz, funk and soul they’ve been shaping since the late ’80s. Built on tight drums, elastic bass lines and bright horn stabs, their groove is made for the stage: compact riffs, long pockets, and room for vocals to drive the momentum.
Formed in West London around Simon Bartholomew, Andrew Levy and Jan Kincaid, the band has always moved between live-band warmth and a sharper, street-level edge, touching jazz-funk, contemporary soul and the occasional hip-hop twist. Expect a set that nods to the early records that helped define the scene, while keeping the focus on what they do best: locking into a rhythm and letting it breathe, chorus after chorus, in front of a crowd that knows exactly why it came.
