Info
Focus bring their Dutch progressive rock back on stage at The Crescent in York on November 29, 2026. Born at the turn of the ’70s and still led by founder Thijs van Leer, the band’s signature mix of symphonic rock, jazz touches and classical-shaped writing comes alive through long, shifting pieces, sharp tempo changes and that unmistakable dialogue between organ, flute and guitar.
Expect a set that leans on the classics that built their reputation worldwide, from “Hocus Pocus” and its oddball vocal bursts to “House of the King” and “Sylvia”, alongside deeper cuts tied to landmark albums like Moving Waves, Focus 3 and Hamburger Concerto. With Pierre van der Linden back on drums, the rhythmic edge remains a defining part of the sound, while Menno Gootjes on guitar and Udo Pannekeet on bass keep the band agile and precise.
Now touring again with renewed momentum, Focus also carry their more recent studio era into the show, including material connected to Focus 11 and the latest chapter, Focus 12.
