Info
On 14 August 2027, Dreamland Margate hosts Simply Red for “Summer Funk 27”, a chance to catch the Manchester soul-pop institution fronted by Mick Hucknall. Built around his instantly recognisable, flexible voice, the band moves between blue-eyed soul, soft rock and a touch of light funk, with a catalogue that runs from their early breakthrough years to the smoother, widescreen pop-soul of the late ’80s and ’90s. Expect a set that plays with that balance: melodic songwriting, refined arrangements, and those grooves that turn a classic pop concert into something warmer and more danceable, drawing on decades of releases right up to the more recent albums that keep the sound sharp without losing its heart.
Also on the bill at Dreamland Margate on 14 August 2027, Heather Small brings her own brand of British soul-pop, shaped by R&B, house and dance culture. Known for a voice that cuts straight through any mix, she’ll dig into a repertoire built for big choruses and club-leaning energy, connecting her solo work with the spirit of the era that made her a staple of UK stages and dancefloors.
