Danser med Drenge has since the early 1990s been one of the bands that has made Danish pop rock something you can sing along to without it becoming neat and polished. The starting point is melodies that stick with you from the start, but the sound freely borrows from soul, reggae and ballads, wrapped in a direct band energy.
For the concert at AB&B - Amager Bio in Copenhagen on May 8, 2027, you can expect a set that blends the classic choruses with the routine a touring band gains from playing them again and again for an audience that knows the words. The songs revolve around relationships, everyday life and loss, told plainly and written for communal singing.
Today Ida Ambrose fronts the band, and the focus remains on closeness and drive on stage: tight pop-rock guitars, a simple yet heavy rhythm section, and the small color shifts in the arrangements that keep the familiar songs alive.
