On June 29, 2027, Lynyrd Skynyrd returns to let the guitars do the talking at the Zenith in Paris. Born in Jacksonville in the early 1970s, the band laid the foundations of XXL southern rock: thick blues riffs, upfront hard rock, touches of country, piano in support, and above all those long guitar forays that have become its signature.
On stage, it is first and foremost a repertoire that has become familiar to several generations that takes precedence: the surge of 'Sweet Home Alabama', the more introspective breath of 'Simple Man', and the inevitable rise of 'Free Bird', the sprawling track that sums up, on its own, their sense of soloing and tension. Led today by Johnny Van Zant and a lineup that remains in motion, Lynyrd Skynyrd continues to keep this Southern sound alive, between raw energy and melodies that linger long.
