Info
On 18 February 2027, António Zambujo brings his understated, close-mic way of singing to EartH in London for a set that sits right at the crossroads of fado, cante alentejano and Brazilian song. Born in Beja, in Portugal’s Alentejo region, he’s built a sound where traditional Portuguese phrasing meets softer, acoustic writing, with calm tempos and arrangements that leave plenty of air around the voice.
Since the early 2000s, Zambujo has refined this balance record after record, moving from fado circuits to international stages without turning his music into a museum piece. His connection to MPB and bossa-like cadences runs deep, notably through a project dedicated to Chico Buarque’s songs, and it still colours his more recent work. Expect a concert that plays on intimacy, clear diction and that effortless slide between heritage and contemporary repertoire.
