Info
Parviz releases his first album in 2026, with Azadeh as the lead single, a name given to girls in Iran, meaning independence and freedom of mind. As a through line, the Women, Life, Freedom movement and the recent popular uprisings in Iran, whose urgency is underscored by an illustration by artist Rana Fadavi. The follow-up release, Sappho’s Fragments, was aired on BBC Radio 6 and has since amassed over half a million streams.
A dreamlike, ingenuous and contemplative album; funk, psychedelic and Persian-inflected sounds meet to evoke the spirit of 1970s Iran, with a modern twist. Blooming, kaleidoscopic and contemplative, it’s like a Rangarang cassette, the beloved Iranian music show of the era, with a DIY aesthetic and a dash of indie to boot.
After a UK tour in February and March, and five consecutive sold-out shows, Parviz will return for the second leg of the Khorshid Khanoom Tour, and will play at La Boule Noire on 7 November 2026.
