On February 22, 2027, Signs of the Swarm is coming to Dynamo Werk 21 in Zurich and bringing American deathcore to the stage in its harshest, most technical incarnation. The Pittsburgh-based band fuses brutal death-metal pressure with heavy downtempo breakdowns, abrupt tempo changes, and a dark atmosphere. Since the arrival of vocalist David Simonich, the vocal handwriting has sharpened even more clearly: deep gutturals, razor-sharp accents, and that feeling that every part pushes forward immediately. Those who have followed the evolution from Senseless Order through The Disfigurement of Existence to Amongst the Low & Empty can expect exactly that here: chopped riffs, precise drumming, and songs that, live, feel more like a compact punch than a mere sequence of tracks. As support, ten56. is on the bill. Around Aaron Matts (ex Betraying The Martyrs), modern deathcore meets hardcore edge, nu-metal impulses, and industrial textures. Massive guitars, brittle grooves, samples and electronic tension fields build the backdrop, while the vocals switch between saturated screams, rap-like phrases, and spoken passages. Together, this yields an evening that leans less toward nostalgia and more toward contemporary extreme music that lands directly in the body.
