SPK are one of the defining names of industrial music. Founded in 1978 in Sydney by Graeme Revell and Neil Hill, the group helped redefine the possibilities of experimental sound by incorporating electronic music, noise, ritual, performance art, and political provocation into a body of work whose influence still resonates today in industrial, electronic, and extreme music.
Albums such as Information Overload Unit, Leichenschrei, Auto-Da-Fé, and Zamia Lehmanni established SPK as a defining band of the post-industrial era. Their work went beyond conventional song structures and fused mechanical rhythms, orchestral textures, non-Western instrumentation, and a cinematic atmosphere, long before such approaches became widespread.
After SPK's final performances in the late 1980s, Graeme Revell became a versatile film composer in Hollywood and scored music for over one hundred feature films and games, including The Crow, The Craft, From Dusk Till Dawn, Sin City, Blow, Call of Duty, and Dune.
In 2026, SPK return to Europe after nearly forty years away from touring, with a new live production. Together with Robert Revell, Graeme Revell brings SPK's legacy into the present, merging the group's original experimental spirit with digital technologies, visual elements, and a new sound architecture.
