Info
Jowee Omicil, born in Montreal to Haitian immigrant parents, is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and improviser who challenges the boundaries of musical genres by blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms, jazz, hip-hop, Afrobeat and improvisation within immersive, collective performances. Renowned for his authenticity and creativity, he forges links between the audience, musicians and generations, guided by his BasH! principle – 'Beauty Ascending Socially Honestly' (the beauty that rises socially and honestly) – a philosophy of love in motion.
La TISS+ Week at Le Baiser Salé is a festival of encounters, emotions and creations. Dive into a universe where heritage, memory, spirituality and Creole culture mingle to give birth to shared moments.
Here, traditions reinvent themselves, writings renew themselves, and universes respond to one another in dialogue, creating distinctive, vibrant and inspiring scenes. True to the DNA of Le Baiser Salé, this week celebrates crossings, traveling influences and the ties that weave between generations, cultures and sensibilities.
