On November 20, 2026 at O2 Ritz Manchester, Elbow brings the focus back to where their story really took shape: Asleep in the Back. Formed in Greater Manchester in the early 90s around Guy Garvey, Mark Potter, Craig Potter and Pete Turner, the band has always worked in long arcs, building songs that feel patiently assembled rather than rushed. This show is a chance to sink into that early-2000s atmosphere where indie rock opens out into art-rock details and dreamier stretches, with guitars, piano and keys weaving in and out of each other.
Elbow’s writing has a knack for letting a track evolve without losing the tune, moving through dynamics and textures like a conversation. From the early years through the bigger turns later on, they’ve kept that collective approach to arrangement and melody, now carried by a lineup that includes drummer Alex Reeves as an official member.
