Déyyess will perform at The Academy in Dublin on 15 November 2027. Born in Canterbury, the British alt-pop artist blends direct melodies and shoegaze textures, with textures that are sometimes rougher, to tell stories of relationships between women, one-sided attractions, and a queer joy never posed as a slogan. Her writing, intimate and precise, moves along a delicate line where romance flirts with a form of fragility she embraces.
With her EP Would You Go Down On A Girl, Déyyess sharpens this blend: catchy choruses, a guitar that hazes the background, and that small emotional tug that makes all the difference. One thinks of Cocteau Twins and the Cranberries as much as of more contemporary pop, in the vein of Chappell Roan or Clairo, without slipping into quotation. After supporting slots for Alessi Rose and appearances on big stages such as BST Hyde Park, Reading and Leeds, she arrives in Dublin with a set that promises to be as captivating as it is blunt.
