Info
Casual and Pep Love, two key voices of the Hieroglyphics collective, take the live stage in Toronto for a show on September 30, 2026 at Lee’s Palace. Hailing from Oakland’s underground scene, they carry that West Coast alternative rap that developed apart from the gangsta codes: tense boom bap, soul and jazz loops, and above all a pronounced taste for internal rhymes and intricate flow sequences. On stage, the Hieroglyphics spirit resonates in the crew energy, with verses that answer each other, images and references flying fast, between abstraction and urban everyday life.
The evening also opens up to other sharpened voices: Asun Eastwood and Daniel Son are billed as headliners, to complete the lineup with raw and direct rap, in the same spirit of performance and lyricism. A date designed for fans of indie rap, technical skill, and mic presence.
