Four bodies colliding on European stages, a carnival under the clown's voice that bows before derailment; four follies that slowly take shape; an itinerant circus that unfurls its prayers into the tight space of summer nights. VioleTT carries his mythos, brings with him his troupe of street performers, and presents this show in the overturning of all codes and all meanings. In infinite mathematical madness, the circus will stop here and there, from city to city, laying down new foundations for sanity itself. What remains stable, on which to build one's mythology when everything around collapses, what remains solid at the clown's twilight? The question is posed.
Alphonse is a monster, a diva, a baby who coos. Alphonse is a gorilla who plays with a branch. Alphonse is the new iPhone, a cerebral parasite. He was born from a Victor Hugo poem cradled in his mother's voice. He was offered money and distinctions: Mouffe Prize, Stingray Rising Star, Sirius XM Prize, etc., so that he could play his music in Canada, in France, and as far as the depths of ancient seas and the secret frontiers of the Milky Way.
Last year, he disappeared into himself to write his first album: "t.o.m. or the trajectory of the Perseids." And you can take my word as an omniscient narrator that Alphonse is now back, enhanced, boosted by new poetic proteins and bionic mechanisms that will allow him to bring the music even higher, even farther, thanks to the power of love, in a second season filled with battles against the forces of evil. And he will lay a beating on those amoebae. Have I made myself clear?
Nana Quinn is a multidisciplinary artist lost somewhere on Highway 20.
Driven by a hybrid approach, they create intimate and poetic worlds in which words always dialogue with gestures, sounds, images, or objects. Their works are naked renderings that question the experience of human existence and the malleability of the boundaries between concepts perceived as contradictory such as life and death, memory and forgetting, the visible and the invisible, pain and rapture. Impermanence is their little obsession. In contexts of art dissemination (recognized or infiltrating) as in their personal life, the artist strives to create zones of sensitive exchange where dialogue and indulgence can arise. Their first book, Mauve is a verb for my throat, was reissued by Blast Editions in spring.
Their latest book, Magical Thought, was released on May 5 by Éditions du Noroît.
