On the occasion of the release of "Parallel Universe – Volume 1" on June 5, 2026, Natacha Atlas and Samy Bishai celebrate their new collaboration with a release party on September 30, 2026 at Cabaret Sauvage in Paris.
Parallel Universe – Volume 1 is a reinvention of the musical meeting point between East and West. The first chapter in a forthcoming series of volumes, the album opens a sonic narrative nourished by a shared fascination with alternative timelines and possible futures.
Between pulsating electronics, Arabic percussion cut on the MPC, quarter-tone analog synths, Rhodes and Arabic choirs with spectral overtones, Natacha Atlas and Samy Bishai shape a contemporary vision of Arabic pop: fluid, futuristic and free from any boundary of genre or geography.
Oscillating between cyberpunk dystopia, synth-pop, electro and Arab hip-hop post-Mahragan, Parallel Universe evolves in a space where genres dissolve and temporalities blur. The lyrics in English and Arabic interweave, carried by the voice of Natacha Atlas and Samy Bishai's electric violin.
A music from a future that remembers its past, at once timeless and contemporary.
