As Warning get ready to share their first new music in twenty years, the story still starts with Patrick Walker: singer, guitarist and songwriter, long associated with 40 Watt Sun, but always tied to the slow-burning doom identity he shaped with Warning. Over the years, the band’s reputation kept growing on its own, with Watching from a Distance (2006) turning into a genuine cult record and a reference point for fans of stripped-down, melodic heaviness.
After a strong run of shows in 2017 built around that album, Walker didn’t rush into writing new material. It took a turning point in his personal life for new songs to surface, and it quickly became clear they belonged under the Warning name. Written from scratch in January 2025, those pieces became Rituals of Shame, recorded and mixed with Chris Fullard.
On stage at The Dome in London on December 10, 2026, expect Warning’s signature tension: slow tempos, thick guitars, and Walker’s clear, worn-in voice. The new songs stay close to the themes running through his work—guilt, shame, failure, obsession, longing and separation—always circling back to love.
