Formed in 1982 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Death Angel is one of those thrash bands that quickly moved beyond the mere 'speed and aggression' mode. Spotted as early as The Ultra-Violence (1987) and then Frolic Through the Park (1988), the band subsequently refined a writing style that was more fluid and contrasted. With Act III (1990), Death Angel pushed even further the blend between thrash nerve, melodies, catchier refrains and nods to classic heavy metal, without losing the tension of the riffs or the precision of the playing.
After a breakup in the early 90s, the band re-emerged in the early 2000s around Rob Cavestany and Mark Osegueda and released albums while keeping this direct, technical and agile identity, between sharp accelerations and tempo changes. On December 8, 2026 in Saarbrücken, at the Garage, the Act III European Tour brings this chapter back to the forefront, with the live energy that has earned Death Angel its reputation on the road.
