Converge head to Project House (Leeds) on 18 November 2026 for a date that promises to be tense and unflinching. Formed in the early 1990s around Jacob Bannon and Kurt Ballou, the band built a sound at the crossroads of hardcore punk and extreme metal, with those fractured rhythms, those dissonances and abrupt twists that have become their signature.
From Halo in a Haystack to Petitioning the Empty Sky and When Forever Comes Crashing, Converge quickly established a tense metalcore, more angular than demonstrative. The Jane Doe era (2001) set the rules of the game: raw intensity, shards of melodies, more interior songwriting, and a way of building pressure without ever smoothing over the chaos.
The follow-up extends this demand while widening the spectrum, from You Fail Me and No Heroes to Axe to Fall, then All We Love We Leave Behind and The Dusk in Us, where more atmospheric textures begin to surface. More recently, Bloodmoon: I has explored slower tempos and darker arrangements, without losing the edge. On stage, Converge remains a precise, dense machine, built for impact.
