Info
Sonata Arctica and Rage will meet on April 22, 2027 in Kraków, at the Kwadrat club, to perform a joint concert in a symphonic rendition, with the accompaniment of an orchestra. This is a rare format in which power metal dynamics gain an additional layer of sound: more space, greater tension, and a different light cast on familiar refrains.
For years, Sonata Arctica has built its reputation on melody, fast guitars, and distinctive keyboards. The band rode the wave of 'Ecliptica', and subsequent albums such as 'Silence', 'Winterheart's Guild' or 'Reckoning Night' refined this style to concert precision. In Kraków, their classics are to be heard in new arrangements, and the setlist should include tracks such as 'FullMoon', 'Tallulah' or 'Don't Say a Word'. Additionally, new material is on the way, previewed by the single 'Freedom Concept'.
Rage, on the other hand, is a German school of metal led by Peavy Wagner: from its speed-metal beginnings to power metal with increasingly bold symphonic elements. Their orchestral threads have a long history, and 'Lingua Mortis' and 'XIII' belong to those albums that early and decisively fused metal with an orchestra. In Kraków, Rage will appear with Lingua Mortis Orchestra, returning to this repertoire and underscoring its importance for the sound of symphonic metal.
