This intimate conviction, Yvan Cassar has come to hold over more than fifteen years during which he accompanied Johnny as his musical director. It forms the starting point of a singular project entrusted to him: to restore the power and emotion of Johnny Hallyday's voice as it resonated on stage, while offering him the sonic setting made possible by studio recordings.

From this ambition emerged two albums: in 2019, Johnny, and in 2021, Act II. Both rest on an unprecedented principle: to preserve Johnny Hallyday's live vocal takes and magnify them with new arrangements, sometimes orchestral, sometimes deliberately pared down. A faithful homage to the artist, with the intensity that only the stage could reveal.

Public reception leads to a self-evident idea: to return these songs to their original home, the stage. In May 2022, Johnny Symphonique hit the road for a first tour of twenty dates. Under the direction of Yvan Cassar, more than one hundred musicians, a choir, and a visual production accompany Johnny's voice, projected on three giant screens. Classics regain their breath: Diego, libre dans sa tête, L’Envie, Allumer le feu, Que je t’aime, but also Marie, Sang pour sang, and Je te promets.

A new series of concerts is planned for spring 2024, enriched with new titles including Gabrielle, Noir c’est noir, and the rhythm-and-blues medley imagined by Johnny in the sixties. The repertoire broadens, and the emotion remains. In total, these two tours will have drawn more than 100,000 spectators.

In 2027, as the public prepares to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Johnny Hallyday’s passing, Johnny Symphonique opens a new chapter. From November 10, 2027, the show will resume for twenty-three dates across France through March 2028. Always under Yvan Cassar's direction, it will continue to let this voice be heard, carried by the power of a symphonic orchestra and a thoughtfully crafted staging.

This new tour will offer new musical tableaux, an enriched repertoire, and several guests who will join in this celebration.
