Born in the US and later based in the UK, he’s built his sound between Silver Spring roots and Liverpool years, sharpening it the hard way in small rooms and tight club stages.
Ngonda leans into 60s-style soul structures: steady grooves, bass lines that hold the whole thing together, and a voice that stays front and center. But the songwriting is clean and modern, with concise melodies and that pop-touch clarity that makes his tracks stick after one listen. After a run of singles with New York’s Daptone Records, his 2023 album Come Around and Love Me captured that warm, lived-in band sound, moving between slow-burn ballads and sharper, dance-ready cuts.
