Laura Roy
A Canadian artist and Grammy-nominated songwriter whose journey from rural Nova Scotia to some of the world's largest stages reflects a continually evolving artistic vision. Rooted in the storytelling traditions of Canada's East Coast, she blends contemporary folk, R&B and alternative pop with a distinctive voice marked by emotional depth and expressive nuance.
Based between the UK and Canada, Roy has toured internationally as a backing vocalist for major artists. After nearly a decade abroad, she returned to Nova Scotia to create her debut full-length album, Late Bloomer Season, a deeply personal project inspired by the landscapes, communities and memories that shaped her early years.
A two-time East Coast Music Award winner, as a songwriter she contributed to “Alone” by Doja Cat, earning a Grammy nomination and establishing herself as a sought-after collaborator.
In 2026 a musician in residence at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
