Lowertown arrives in Dublin on September 1, 2026, on The Grand Social’s stage, with their edgy indie rock born in Atlanta. At the helm is the duo formed by Olivia Osby (vocals, writing) and Avsha Weinberg (multi-instrumentalist), initially spotted for their home-made tracks blending bedroom pop and lo-fi, before widening their sound toward something rougher.
Their shift is audible from the EP The Gaping Mouth, and unfolds further on the album I Love to Lie: distorted guitars, rhythms that sometimes edge toward post-punk, and more pared-down, almost acoustic passages. Osby’s lyrics stay central—direct and introspective—with that knack for balancing fragility and tension without overdoing it.
In concert, Lowertown often performs in an expanded lineup: the songs gain impact, coming across as more direct and upfront, while preserving that intimate, abrasive edge that defines their identity. A show to rediscover this chiaroscuro writing, between suspended melodies and louder build-ups.
