Info
When it comes to Foy Vance, it’s all about a song that comes straight at you: folk with a soul- and gospel-tinged edge, fed by his roots in Northern Ireland and his love for the American South. With a direct guitar style and a lived-in voice, he crafts songs that stay intimate as readily as they unfold into broader arrangements.
Since his debut Hope (2007), he has gradually pushed his sound forward: from pure, acoustic songs to the richer-toned The Joy of Nothing (2013), and further toward the Americana he embraced on The Wild Swan (2016), released via Gingerbread Man Records. Later he continued that thread with From Muscle Shoals and To Memphis (2019), where the southern soul is unmistakably audible. On Signs of Life (2021) he again finds balance between roots, melody and personal ballads.
On 13 September 2026, Foy Vance will perform at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen for a concert built on storytelling, rhythm and space for the voice.
