Info
On August 16, 2026, at Beanfield Theatre in Montreal, Chance Peña will unfold his minimalist, hushed folk-pop, carried by a real sense of storytelling. Born in East Texas, he established early on a precise writing style capable of letting tradition and modernity dialogue without forcing it. Discovered with Up, Up & Away, and later associated with John Legend on Conversations in the Dark (Grammy nomination), he has built an intimate universe, between organic arrangements, discreet production and melodies that give space to the words. From Ever-Shifting, Continual Blossoming to When I Change My Mind I Don't Mean It, written in retreat in a Californian cabin, Peña pushes even further the purity and introspection, in music that moves at a human scale. After touring alongside The Lumineers and Tom Odell, he returns in a concert format with songs thought for silence, breaths, and that restrained emotion that lingers long.
Born in Vermont and based in New Orleans, Hans Williams opens the evening with sober indie folk, centered on guitar, infused with soul inflections. Nourished as much by Al Green and James Brown as by Tracy Chapman or Steely Dan, he relies on stripped-down production and a rasping voice placed front and center. His tracks such as All Is Well, Checklist, or Willows sketch direct writing, focused on the intimate, catharsis and the blurred zones of daily life, in the spirit of songwriters who prefer the truth of live performance to effects.
