On October 31, 2026, Free Throw and Microwave will share the same bill at the Park Theatre in Winnipeg, with Carly Cosgrove opening.
From Nashville, Free Throw brings a raw emo rooted in pop punk and a very direct writing style. Between tense guitars, catchy melodies, and the genre’s characteristic accelerations, the band led by Cory Castro has refined its sound across releases, without losing the appetite for choruses that hit hard and for lyrics centered on mental health, addiction, and coming of age. On stage, it alternates urgency with more intimate moments, and the DIY ethos remains at the heart of their identity.
Opposite them, Microwave arrives from Atlanta with a taut alternative rock sound at the crossroads of emo, post-hardcore, and heavier tones. Nathan Hardy’s vocals guide songs built on contrast: abrasive riffs, melodic breaths, darker atmospheres, all carried by introspective writing. A true rollercoaster of emotional dynamics throughout the set.
