Tahiti 80 was formed in Rouen in the mid-1990s. Taking its name from a souvenir T-shirt, the band, a fixture of French indie pop, made an impression from its early days. Their debut album, Puzzle (1999), certified gold, opened the doors to international stages, festivals such as Reading, Fuji Rock, and SXSW, and tours that cemented their reputation. With their enchanting melodies and grooves that blend pop, electro, and rock, Tahiti 80 has forged a unique musical universe, immediately recognizable.
Nearly thirty years after their debut, the Rouen-based band is set to release its eleventh album in September 2026, conceived as a new sonic adventure. Between bold tracks and fresh musical explorations, this project will reflect their constant desire to reinvent themselves, while remaining faithful to the essence that defines them.
