Info

Wasia Project bring their intimate, finely arranged chamber-pop to Leeds on 7 November 2026 at Leeds Beckett Students’ Union. Formed in 2019 by siblings Olivia Hardy (voice, guitar) and William Gao (piano, voice), the London duo thread indie pop, light jazz inflections and subtle electronics through a classical grounding. Early single Why Don’t U Love Me set the tone, followed by the EP How Can I Pretend? in 2022 and a run of tracks including Petals on the Moon, My Lover Is Sleeping and Remember When. Ur So Pretty also found a wider audience via the Heartstopper season two soundtrack. Their 2024 EP Isotope deepened the palette: piano motifs, supple vocals, brass shades and patient, unhurried grooves.

On stage, Wasia Project expand to a small ensemble with drums, bass and horns, opening the songs without losing the duo’s close-knit core. Expect warm harmonies, quiet-to-bright shifts and space for William’s keys to converse with Olivia’s phrasing, moving from hushed passages to gentle, rhythmic swells. A set built around Isotope and earlier standouts, played with a focus on detail and a feel for dynamics.
