Lebanon Hanover

Lebanon Hanover bring their stripped-back cold wave to Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on 17 March 2027. The Swiss-British duo of Larissa Iceglass and William Maybelline build songs on lean basslines, metronomic drum machines and vocals that move between detached murmurs and clear, measured lines. Rooted in post-punk and new wave, their sound shifts from cutting guitar figures to fluorescent synths, with lyrics in English and sometimes German. A romantic streak runs through their imagery — hints of art nouveau, nods to Wordsworth, night walks along British coasts — tempered by the urban edges of Berlin.

On stage, Lebanon Hanover keep it minimal: two silhouettes, bass, guitar and rhythm boxes. Repetition, space and small contrasts set the pulse, trading spectacle for focus and motion. The set moves from the early minimalism that defined their beginnings to the wider, more atmospheric textures explored in recent material, without losing their discipline. Expect a nocturnal atmosphere, steady tempos and a tight, physical sound that pulls the room into its own twilight zone.
