Wheeler Walker Jr. is the unapologetic country alter ego of Ben Hoffman, a Kentucky-born comedian who turned a Nashville gag into a full-on music project. Since Redneck Shit in 2016, followed by Ol’ Wheeler, WW III, Sex, Drugs & Country Music and Ram in 2023, he’s built a catalog that blends traditional country, outlaw bite and country rock, while leaning into satirical, explicit storytelling. The contrast is the point: classic Nashville arrangements, pedal steel and barroom twang set against lyrics that lampoon the genre’s codes with a deadpan grin.

Pullin’ Out: The Farewell Tour looks back across that run, drawing on honky-tonk shuffles, mid-tempo burners and southern rock edges, played by a seasoned band that keeps it tight and unadorned. On stage, Walker sticks to straight-ahead songcraft and lets the words do the heavy lifting, a formula he’s road-tested across the American country and Americana circuit, from club dates to a stop at the Ryman, with crossings alongside Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson and Nikki Lane.
