Wheeler Walker Jr. brings Pullin’ Out: The Farewell Tour to Grey Eagle in Calgary on April 2, 2027. The Nashville-based alter ego of comedian Ben Hoffman twists classic country forms into explicit, satirical storytelling, pairing honky-tonk, outlaw twang and country rock with lyrics that go straight for the punchline. Since the debut Redneck Shit in 2016 with producer Dave Cobb, through Ol’ Wheeler, WW III, Sex, Drugs & Country Music and Ram, he’s built a songbook that nods to tradition while poking at it with deadpan humor.
On stage, the band leans into tight, old-school arrangements and big choruses, and Wheeler holds the line between character and confession with a straight face. The show pulls from across the albums, trading barroom stompers, slow burns and blunt one-liners, in a tone as crude as it is precise. A farewell lap that closes the loop on a project parked between country, southern rock and stand-up.
