French Police bring their shadowy, melodic take on post-punk to Toronto on September 12, 2026 at The Mod Club. The Chicago trio—brothers Brian and Jesse Flores with bassist Jose Vega—builds songs on pulsing basslines, clean, looping guitars and lean rhythms, topped with detached vocals. The sound nods to early 80s new wave and coldwave while staying rooted in the present.
Formed in the late 2010s within the DIY circuit, the band shaped its identity on small stages before circulating through North American alternative scenes. Their self-titled debut and Haunted Castle outline a bilingual path in English and Spanish, where nocturnal melodies meet grooves built for movement. On stage, French Police leans into repetition and texture, letting the bass drive and the guitar lines sketch a city-at-night mood. The set draws across both records with recent material in the mix, direct and unadorned.
