You needn't look far to understand the tone of Cactus. By giving this name to his new show, Elie Semoun sets the tone. For 30 years he has established himself on the French stage. His style, which blends subtlety and audacity, has inspired numerous generations of artists.

For his eighth show, Elie Semoun takes a slight turn: stand-up now occupies a more prominent place, a novelty for him. But Cactus remains true to his taste for characters. Among the cast of new characters you will encounter Jean Abdul, who will be his opening act; a son who takes his father to visit a nursing home; Xavier, who has reduced mobility, introducing his wife to his mother; a father confronted with his son's transition; a racist karate instructor; and a perspective on sexual harassment and religion.

With Cactus, Elie Semoun offers a vision of society in which themes of intolerance, taboo and injustice are addressed unflinchingly.
