Lebanon Hanover

Lebanon Hanover touch down at Rough Trade Liverpool on 18 March 2027. The Swiss-British duo of Larissa Iceglass and William Maybelline has honed a stark post-punk and cold wave vocabulary since the early 2010s, moving between Berlin and the UK. On stage, they strip the music to its essentials: basslines that loop with intent, drum machines that keep a fixed pulse, serrated guitars, and vocals delivered with measured distance in English and at times in German.

The set skims across their catalogue — The World Is Getting Colder, Why Not Just Be Solo, Tomb for Two, Besides the Abyss, Let Them Be Alien and Sci-Fi Sky — tracing a path from bare-bones minimalism to wider, more melancholic textures without loosening the tight framework that defines the project.

Influences appear in shades rather than slogans: the curves of art nouveau, the hush of British coasts and forests at night, and the urban rhythm of Berlin. Lebanon Hanover approach the present with restraint and clarity, a cool surface with a steady undercurrent — the signature of their live presence.
