Way Dynamic

Way Dynamic, the solo project of Melbourne musician Dylan Young, lands at Future Yard in Birkenhead on 28 August 2026. Ahead of the new album Massive Shoe, Young distills minimalist folk-pop with shades of art rock and baroque pop, writing, producing and playing most of it himself. Known for his work with Cool Sounds and Good Morning, and for stints on drums with Snowy Band and Kankawa Nagarra, he crafts songs that keep things lean and melodic: clear guitars, measured tempos, close vocals, small flourishes of keys or denser textures when the mood calls for it. The lyrics move between tenderness and sly humour, sketching scenes that drift from daydream to blunt confession, from a quiet spiral to a slow walk back into the light. On stage, those pieces open up, trading bedroom precision for a warmer, more elastic band feel without losing their intimate core.

Support comes from Snowy, a fellow Melbourne diehard who toggles between leading his band through folk-tinged blowouts and chasing the next idea before the current one cools. Expect songs that start as gentle notebooks and slide into bigger, fuzzed edges, the kind that reveal a restless ear at work.
