Welcome Back My Friends - An Evening with Emerson, Lake & Palmer

Welcome Back My Friends lands at L’Olympia, Montréal, on April 2, 2027, for An Evening with Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Formed in London in 1970, the trio brought together Keith Emerson from The Nice, Greg Lake from King Crimson and Carl Palmer from Atomic Rooster to push progressive rock into new territory. Their writing folds long-form suites, sharp riffs and acoustic breathers into a sound that borrows from classical language and jazz phrasing. At the center, Emerson’s organ, piano and early synths shape the contour of each piece; Lake’s voice and melodic bass anchor the themes; Palmer’s precise, mobile drumming keeps the engine agile.

From the early spark at the Isle of Wight Festival to cornerstone records like Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Tarkus, Trilogy and Brain Salad Surgery, and the live rework of Pictures at an Exhibition, the group set a template both ambitious and direct.
