Camille Yembe

On November 6, 2026 at Le Lieu Chéri in Bordeaux, Camille Yembe presents a label-free pop sung in French and nourished by her lived experience. She addresses the boredom of everyday life, social issues, and the feeling of being caught between two worlds. After trying to fit into a mould, she now embraces an open pop that can absorb rap influences, draw on mainstream pop, and flirt with electro. On stage, she alternates stripped-back moments on piano or guitar with more rhythm-driven passages designed to get people moving.

At the heart of this live show, Jeune et Laide acts as the throughline: an autobiographical project whose writing remains direct and accessible. Songs like "Rien à fêter" continue this clear line, putting simple words to identity, others’ gaze, and the space one must carve out for oneself. Her bicultural background surfaces everywhere, in the textures as much as in the images she evokes, shaping music that moves between genres without being confined by them.

The concert also lets in other voices. Her father’s, in particular, runs through the narrative as he recalls his arrival in Belgium and poses a question that lingers: can a battered star still shine?
