Tashi Dorji (solo guitar)
Born in Bhutan and based in Asheville, Tashi Dorji has built a singular career in contemporary improvisation. His guitar practice — intuitive, intense, and physical — moves between abstraction, attentive listening, and spontaneous gesture. He performs at Casa Montjuïc on 17/10/2026 at 18:30.
With a trajectory that has led him to tour with Godspeed You! Black Emperor and to open for Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Dorji deploys a language grounded in alternative tunings, prepared guitar, and free improvisation.
Both in his solo work and in projects such as Manas or the free-jazz trio Kuzu, his music articulates an aesthetic of resistance and collective transformation. An open and unpredictable live performance.
