Avatar bring their theatrical metal to O2 Guildhall, Southampton on 21 November 2026. Born from Gothenburg’s melodeath scene, the five-piece led by vocalist Johannes Eckerström fuses modern metal weight, groove and classic heavy influences with a dark circus flair and meticulous visuals. The set roams from the bite of Black Waltz and Hail the Apocalypse to the narrative sweep of Feathers & Flesh, the swagger of Avatar Country, and the recent punch of Hunter Gatherer and Dance Devil Dance. On stage, riffs hit hard and hooky, drums drive with mechanical precision, and choruses open to communal chants, while character play and tight pacing thread the show. Face paint, ringmaster energy and a taste for melody meet thick guitars, sudden dynamic drops and bursts of speed. The concert is paced like a story, with tension and release shaped by personas, interludes and focused musicianship, for a live experience that sits somewhere between heavy gig and twisted cabaret.
