Getdown Services bring their bass-forward, post-punk-meets-dance sound to Project House, Leeds, on 30 November 2026. Emerging from the UK indie underground in the early 2020s, the duo build tracks from dry drum machines, looping basslines and wiry guitars or synths, keeping the groove lean and direct. The vocals slip between talk-sung hooks and near-spoken word, turning everyday observations, social codes and urban tics into terse, deadpan refrains delivered with a dry, ironic edge.

On stage, they push repetition and sudden drops for a set that moves between tight pulse and release, as at home in a club as in a small DIY room. The songs favour simple structures and momentum over polish, wiring post-punk tension to a dancefloor instinct. Lyrics side-eye routine and late-night city life without preaching, leaving space for the beat to do its work. It’s a setup that lets them sit between rock shows and electronic nights, pulling dancers and head-nodders into the same space. At Project House, expect taut rhythm programming, bass that anchors the room, and flashes of synth or guitar that cut through, built for movement without losing the grit.
