Youngblood Brass Band adopts the format of a New Orleans brass band and blends it with punk and hip-hop. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, the ensemble comprises ten members from Madison, Brooklyn, Nashville, Minneapolis and Chicago, and has been performing on international stages since 2000.
Their music has been mixed by DJs such as Questlove (The Roots); they have collaborated with Talib Kweli, and their compositions are performed by student marching bands and jazz ensembles. Their repertoire brings together audiences from diverse backgrounds, from trombone enthusiasts to b-boys.
