Skip the Use

On February 4, 2027 at La Laiterie in Strasbourg, Skip the Use arrives with their electro-pop and punk-rock blend made for the stage. Formed in 2007 around Matt Bastard, the band brings together Yann Stefani, Jay Gimenez, Lio Rapsaert and Manamax Catteloin. After a self-released debut in 2009 and Can Be Late in 2012, which earned them a Victoire de la Musique, the quintet forged its reputation through marathon tours and straightforward tracks.

On the bill: a compact set where the rhythm drives straight, the guitars bite and the synths carve out the space. Matt’s voice leads the charge, alternating between chanted lines and taut melodies, backed by a no-frills bass-and-drum section. The flagship songs gain a new urgency live, supported by more recent material, in a continuity that recalls what has defined the band since its beginnings: immediate choruses, unfiltered energy and a knack for hooks that draws as much from rock as from electronic music. A night designed for those who enjoy close-contact shows, without unnecessary pauses.
